Sam Sterling is an Associate Director and shareholder on the Investment Research team at Pathstone, based in the Boston Office.
Sam came to Pathstone from FCLTGlobal, a think tank focused on sustainability in institutional investing, where he was Manager of Research and Client Engagement. At FCLTGlobal, he co-authored research on the financial materiality of sustainability issues and climate change investing. Prior to FCLTGlobal, Sam held several roles at a global financial technology consulting firm, helping alternative and traditional investment managers improve their modeling, portfolio management, and trading activities.
Sam earned his Bachelor of Science at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management in 2012, has held the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ®) designation since 2017, and is a member of the CFA Society Boston.
Sam’s experience in investing and business spans international borders, having worked with clients and partners in five continents, including a one-year engagement in India. Outside of Pathstone, Sam can be found traveling, skiing, and hiking with his wife Katharine and their energetic dog, Wagner.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) is a professional designation given to investment professionals who have successfully completed the requirements set by the globally recognized CFA Institute. Candidates are required to pass three levels of exams covering areas such as accounting, economics, ethics, money management, and security analysis.
