Alexander Hart is the Chief Operating Officer of Pathstone and a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team. In his role, Alex helps lead the continued evolution of Pathstone’s enterprise platform, overseeing key areas including investments, technology, data, and firmwide transformation.

Alex’s work is focused on strengthening the capabilities, systems, and integrated resources that support Pathstone’s advisors and enable the firm to serve the increasingly complex needs of ultra-high-net-worth families, family offices, and institutions.

Prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer, Alex served as Pathstone’s Chief Research Officer, where he led the development and advancement of the firm’s investment platform. In that role, he helped build a unified, research-driven approach to portfolio construction, manager selection, due diligence, and client implementation, supporting Pathstone’s continued growth and national expansion.

Alex also played an important role in the integration of Concentric Innovation into Pathstone’s broader investment offering. Working closely with Concentric’s leadership team, he helped bring tax-optimized, technology-enabled portfolio management capabilities into the firm’s platform, further strengthening Pathstone’s ability to deliver personalized investment solutions for complex clients across asset classes.

Earlier in his career, Alex was Director of Equity & Fixed Income Research at Federal Street Advisors, where he was responsible for manager selection and due diligence across the firm’s investment platform.

Alex earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Colgate University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society Boston.

A Boston-area native, Alex lives in the suburbs with his wife and three children. Outside the office, he enjoys skiing in Vermont during the winter and fly fishing and spending time outdoors during the summer.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) is a professional designation given by the CFA Institute that measures and certifies the competence and integrity of financial analysts. Candidates are required to pass three levels of exams covering areas such as accounting, economics, ethics, money management, and security analysis.

The CAIA® designation is a globally recognized credential granted to individuals who have successfully completed the CAIA program and met the Association’s requirements. Use of the CAIA designation is authorized only for individuals who are in good standing with the CAIA Association.
