Shante Smith is a Director in the Legal & Compliance group in Pathstone’s Washington, DC office.  Shanté manages the firm’s client engagement process, primarily focusing on client agreements.  Shanté is also responsible for on-boarding new client relationships and serves as a member on Pathstone’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council.

Prior to Pathstone, Shanté worked for 18 years as an executive legal secretary at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP.  During that time, she supported the head of the Financial Institution Regulatory and Enforcement practice group serving as a key representative with respect to a wide range of responsibilities and requests from clients and firm attorneys.  In addition, she coordinated special departmental events as well as professional development programs for attorneys throughout the practice group.

Shanté earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science from Iona College in 1998 and a Master of Science degree in Management (with a concentration in Human Resource Management) from the University of Maryland – University College in 2017.

Shanté thoroughly enjoys planning and hosting friends and family gatherings.  She also loves traveling and experiencing new places with her husband.
