Eric Alt is a Managing Director and shareholder of Pathstone. He serves as Co-Chief Investment Officer at Pathstone, supporting both Client Advisory and Investment Research functions
Prior to joining Pathstone, Eric was a Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Hall Capital Partners LLC, an Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO) which advised on $45 billion of client assets. He was also a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee. Before joining Hall Capital Partners, Eric held senior roles at both Piper Jaffray & Co. and Robertson Stephens. Additionally, Eric was also a principal in an entrepreneurial venture and worked at Kluge & Company, a private investment firm. He started his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas as a Certified Public Accountant in the firm’s Real Estate Advisory group.
Eric graduated summa cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He also earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife live in San Francisco and have two college age children.
Eric is a member of the Development Board at The University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the University of Texas McCombs School of Business Advisory Council. He serves on the Investment Committees at both the MacArthur Foundation and CommonSpirit Health (formerly Dignity Health). He also serves on both the Board of Trustees for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.
In his free time, Eric enjoys food, wine, cycling, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
