Sarb Shah is a shareholder and Managing Director at Pathstone serving both Advisory and Investment Research functions in the Alexandria, VA office. Sarb is a member of Pathstone’s Chief Investment Office, a voting member of the Investment Oversight Committee, and chairs the Firm’s Listed Markets Committee. As Head of Listed Markets, Sarb oversees the team that advises on marketable securities investing across equities, credit, and fixed income. Sarb also serves on the Strategy and Private Market Committees. In client advisory, Sarb focuses the bulk of his time on the large family office business owner segment.
Prior to Pathstone, Sarb was a partner and Chief Investment Officer for Dyson Capital Advisors. He led the investment advisory function and was responsible for all asset allocation, manager selection, and direct investment recommendations. Before joining Dyson, Sarb served in a variety of roles analyzing investments. He was a Partner and Director of Research at X-10 Capital, an Associate with Columbia Capital LLC, and an Analyst on the Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc. Investment Banking team.
Sarb received an AB in Economics from The University of Chicago in 1996. He lives in Vienna, VA with his wife and two children.
